Escapee caught and remanded

A man who walked away from custody was found and remanded, said a report from the Bethel Police Department. On 02/17/2017, at approximately 1648 hours, Attorney Linda Hardyman reported that her client, Jesse Beaver Jr., 33 years of age (DOB 03/07/1983), of Napaskiak, left her custody while dining at a local restaurant. Mr. Beaver was released from the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center to Ms. Hardyman to be taken to the Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation. From there, the two went to eat lunch at Connie’s Restaurant. Mr. Beaver was allowed to leave the restaurant to smoke a cigarette in the parking lot. After approximately 10-15 minutes, Ms. Hardyman realized that Mr. Beaver was not going to return.

Mr. Beaver was described as a Native male, 5’5” tall, 160 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. Mr. Beaver was reported to be wearing a red colored hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

On 2/20/2017, dispatch received a tip of where Beaver may be located at. Officers responded and were able to make contact with Mr. Beaver. Beaver was subsequently remanded to the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center for Violating his Conditions of Release.
