The girls 1A Coastal Conference champions are the Newtok Lady Jaegers. This is their first tournament title. The Lady Jaegers will be representing LKSD at the 1A State basketball tournament in Anchorage March 15-18, 2017. Their coaches are Jimmy Charles and Zenia Andy.

All Stars lead LKSD to second at NYO state meet LKSD All-Star 2 foot high kicker Isaiah Charles of Newtok is captured in this split-second shot where he connects with the sealskin ball at 86″. The NYO State Championship was held April 21-23 in Anch.

Extreme Biking Ben Kuntz of Bethel and his faithful dog Ruby were out on a fat biking excursion on the frozen Kuskokwim River last Sunday. The big tires of the Surly fat bike make it fun to ride on extreme terrain, such as the snow-covered river.
